India Vs Sri Lanka:As it happened

India Vs Sri Lanka test series finally ended after the controversial last match. This blog is analysis about this very series.

India won its 9th successive series after beating Sri Lanka 1-0.I believe that everything looked good until the third test but the third test posed several questions on India.First of all this series was more like a preparatory series for the tour of South Africa and hence I would like to analyse this series in that context.Firstly I have to say that Sri Lanka batted quiet nicely,to save the final test.Sri Lanka should take this as a victory as India had already whitewashed them in their home soil.
Talking about India,I feel that the inability of our spinners was clearly visible. No matter how much hype we create of Ashwin and Jadeja, the fact remains that our spinners can take wickets only on square turning pitches. The Delhi test was a clear indication of this fact. The fast bowling attack looks good with Ishant Sharma leading from the front. But I really think that the Delhi test was the real test for the fast bowlers as there was no added benefit from the pitch. If the pace attack would have wrapped up the Sri Lankan batting, then this could have been the best situation. But we should not forget that Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was not playing this series and I believe that he is the best bowler for India at this moment.
The batting also looks sorted.Everyone made runs except Rahane which may be a concern.I believe that Pujara was the best in this pool as he made a much needed 50 in the Kolkata test, the only time India looked in trouble.Though in terms of numbers Virat leads the list of highest run scorers.
From the Sri Lankan side,Dinesh Chandimal was the best batsman. In a team which is still emerging from the farewell of Sangarkara and Jayawardene,Dinesh Chandimal has been the best performer.
Finally I believe that if the series is just seen as another series,we can say that Indians have done well but if it is seen in terms of a preparation against South Africa, then India should better get rid of their problems quickly.South Africa will be a very challenging tour for India.

Is Cricket Still a Gentleman's Sport?

The last one week of has pulled out many controversies. These incidents are so ugly that one might still wonder if cricket is still a Gentleman's game. This blog is about these incidents and where the future of cricket is heading to. It is so disheartening that there have been not one but three incidents in past one week which have put a dark spot on cricket which is considered a gentleman's game.To start with the ugliest 1.The ball-tampering scandal This tampering was done during the third test match between Australia and South Africa. The whole Australian team was involved in ball tampering. This is not the first ball tampering incident but this is the first time when the whole team is involved in ball tampering which also includes the coach. It also started when the two on-field umpires called Cameron Bancroft in suspicion of tampering the ball. But he said that he had a sunglass cleaner which he used to clean his sunglasses and not tamper the ball. But later in the day vi
