U-17 Football World Cup:All you need to know

The 17th edition of the football world cup is going to start from 6 October and is going to be hosted in India for the first time. This blog is about this mega event and various possibilities and chances of teams especially Indian team.

There are 24 teams which are divided into four groups. The top two teams directly qualify for the round of 16 while the 4 of the best thirds will make it to the knockouts.Nigeria has won this competition 5 times and is the most successful team in this competition. The tournament is going to be played in six stadiums.Salt Lake stadium being the largest with the capacity of 66,600.
As far as India is concerned they are kept in pool A.The chances of qualification are quite challenging as they have two former champions in their group Brazil(1997,1999,2003) and Mexico(2005,2011).Other two teams like Germany and Mali have been performing quite well in this event.Mali was the runner up in the last edition of this tournament and Germany also has 3 medals to its name.Hence the path for India is not going to be easy.India is going to start its journey by playing against U.S.A in the first match on 6 October at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.India definitely has as advantage of uncertainity and ambiguity as it is participating in this tournament for the very first time. Also the culture and the standard of Indian football has changed a lot in last few years, thanks to ISL.
Finally I believe this tournament is a golden chance for India to make a break through to the world of football. But surely the young footballers need to pull out a magical performance to do so.I desperately want the young footballers to do well for the country.

Can there be another Usain Bolt?

On August 12 Usain Bolt announced retirement after losing a 100m race first time after 2011 disqualification and getting injured in 4*100m relay .Hence the question arises is Usain Bolt the greatest star of all times? When we talk about the greatest athletes ,we compare him with Carl Lewis, Michael Johnson and other people. If we look at his great carrier record we can be just carried away with this fact. He has won 8 gold in Olympics and 11  gold in world championships. This is not all he has also won 2 silver and 1 bronze in  World Championships . 8 gold means he has defended his 100m,200m not once but twice. Not only this he holds the world and Olympic records for the fastest 100m 200m and 4*100m relay. The timings that he has put on is even a scientific shock. Scientists say that covering 100m in 9.58 seconds is next to impossible. This speaks of his muscle strength and accelerating abilities. Considering the fact that he is not the best...

Can Indian Hockey bring back its golden days?

The national game of India has been out of color for past few years. The big question is can hockey (Indian mens hockey)bring back its golden days in India. Hockey is a game in which India has dominated in the past. In fact India holds the record of maximum number of gold medals in the game of hockey. The days of Dhyan Chand were absolutely golden for India as India has no match at that time.India has won a staggering 11 olympic medals including 8 gold,1silver and 2 bronze medals. But after 1980 things have not been good for Indian hockey and after 2000 India has been facing problems in even qualifying for the Olympics. The major reason for this drop is the change of rules.Hockey earlier was played on plain grounds. But after the introduction of Astro Turf grounds, the game becoming fast,Dominance of European countries in the administration made things worse for India. Not only did Indian hockey lost tournaments but it also lost its popularity from India.Another big reason for this...

Who is better Sachin or Virat?

The hot Question since past three years is Who is a better player Sachin or Virat?                              Sachin Tendulkar                                                        Virat Kohli Well its not easy to compare two people of two different generations but it still can be done because of the fact that both of them have played with each other for good 3-4 years. Lets compare both of them on different aspects-: 1.       Time periods :  When we compare the periods when these two played then they are extremely different. Sachin made his debut at a time when India was emerging as a cricketing country, when we were not the best in any of the things. Sachin came as a hope as to we could say that we hav...
