Will the heroes of World Cup 2011 be given a chance to comeback?

Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir are the two players who were a part of 2011 World Cup team but out of the team since last 5 years.This blog is about whether they will ever get a chance to make a comeback.




Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh,the two greats of Indian cricket are out of the Indian One-Day team since last five years.Gautam Gambhir was out of the One Day team since 2012 while Harbhajan was also out from the One Day team since 2012,only got a chance to play against Zimbabwe in 2015.The selection committe has been quiet reluctant in getting these two players back.The most disappointing fact is that Gambhir was the second highest run getter in the 2017 IPL season and was in an excellent form in that period but the selectors turned a deaf ear towards his performance and took players like Rohit Sharma who was in poor form.My question is simple to the selectors Why do they show double standards in team selection?When players like Mohit Sharma,Ashwin got into the team on the basis of their IPL performances then why not these two players.Both Ashwin and Jadeja are results of continuous backing and support.Can Dhoni and Kohli make a comeback after 5 years just by playing 2 matches.The senior players who used to be a part of the team are very badly treated now a days.Virender Sehwag had to retire without playing his farewell match.The experience that these players bring in is priceless.It is just that India is playing in India that they are winning matches one sided.Of course the overseas record of Indian team is very poor!!This is where these players become useful but if they are expected to perform within 1 or 2 matches after being out for 5 years,that is very difficult to do.
Finally I believe that the Indian team should now start making its team for World Cup 2019 which is going to be held in England and Wales.The pitches may not be as flat as it was during the Champions Trophy 2017.Hence some experienced players need to be with the team.The BCCI has given signals of including Dhoni till World Cup 2019.I think that Harbhajan and Gambhir should also be in the list of probables and they should be given time for longer periods to make a comeback.May be the series against New Zealand would be the correct time.
