U.S.Open 2017:As it happened

The last grandslam of the year ended leaving behind too many surprises. This blog is about the results of the concluded U.S Open 2017.

Finally the answer has come as to who would win the U.S Open this year. But unfortunately we could not see Federer vs Nadal playing against each other. The result of men's singles is no surprise as one of  Federer or Nadal was predicted to win.Federer ,who looked that he was unfit after playing two back to back five set matches in the opening round lost in the quarter finals against Del Potro.Though after the match he confessed that he was absolutely fit and lost because he was not determined mentally. But the person who deserves applause is Juan Martin Del Potro.I mean what a great comeback he has made. The former U.S Open champion was out from competitive tennis for so long, struggling to make a comeback finally registers an epic performance. And who does he choose to register his comeback, the contender himself Roger Federer. The second impressive player is Kevin Anderson. The 28th seed young South African made his way from the bottom half of the draw which was expected to have such surprises. But what to say about the champion Rafael Nadal who won his second grandslam of this year.He has managed to reach three grandslam finals this year. After a rough start to the tournament,he made sure that he was at his best in the later rounds. The final match was sheer dominance as he won in straight sets (6-3 6-3 6-4).
If the results of men's singles was expected the results of women's singles was an absolutely unexpected.Sloane Stephens stole the show in an all U.S affair against Madison Keys. The unseeded player from U.S.A managed to upset players like Venus Willams in semi finals and Anastasija Sevatsova in Quarter finals in her road glory. It was a U.S.A dominated championship as all the four woman semi finalists were from U.S.A .Martina Hingis along with Chan Yung Jan took away the mixed doubles events while Jean Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau took away the men's doubles event.Lucie Hradecka and Katerenia Siniakova took the women's doubles event in an all Czech affair.
Finally I am happy to see the old days of dominance of Nadal and Federer are back.I wish that hese two players keep on playing for ever to keep the quality and entertainment of tennis high.

Can Indian Hockey bring back its golden days?

The national game of India has been out of color for past few years. The big question is can hockey (Indian mens hockey)bring back its golden days in India. Hockey is a game in which India has dominated in the past. In fact India holds the record of maximum number of gold medals in the game of hockey. The days of Dhyan Chand were absolutely golden for India as India has no match at that time.India has won a staggering 11 olympic medals including 8 gold,1silver and 2 bronze medals. But after 1980 things have not been good for Indian hockey and after 2000 India has been facing problems in even qualifying for the Olympics. The major reason for this drop is the change of rules.Hockey earlier was played on plain grounds. But after the introduction of Astro Turf grounds, the game becoming fast,Dominance of European countries in the administration made things worse for India. Not only did Indian hockey lost tournaments but it also lost its popularity from India.Another big reason for this...

Who is better Sachin or Virat?

The hot Question since past three years is Who is a better player Sachin or Virat?                              Sachin Tendulkar                                                        Virat Kohli Well its not easy to compare two people of two different generations but it still can be done because of the fact that both of them have played with each other for good 3-4 years. Lets compare both of them on different aspects-: 1.       Time periods :  When we compare the periods when these two played then they are extremely different. Sachin made his debut at a time when India was emerging as a cricketing country, when we were not the best in any of the things. Sachin came as a hope as to we could say that we hav...
