Why is Indian Tennis producing only good doubles players not singles players?

Indian tennis players have been performing extremely well in the world arena. The big question is why India is not able to produce good singles players.

Tennis is one of the games in which India is among world's best.Indian tennis players have consistently winning grand slams and ATP events.Players like Sania Mirza,Leander Paes,Mahesh Bhupati,Rohan Bopanna have been constantly in top-10 in world rankings.Infact since 1997 Indian tennis players have constantly been winning at least a single grandslam each and every year.In the year 2015 the players managed to win three grandslams(2 in mixed doubles and one in women doubles). This is something which very few countries would have managed to.But the problem is all the achivements have come in doubles not a single event has been won in singles event which is very strange. But why has this happened!
The major reason behind this is the lack of funding in the field of tennis.Tennis is a very expensive sport. It is one of the very few sports where players have their own coaching and managing staff.Without sponsorships it is very difficult to bear such heavy expenses. Also singles requires a lot of physical ability, technique and most importantly patience.Patience is a very key factor as most of the time this game was dominated by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.Since last few years it has been distibuted amoungst the Big Four(i.e. Federer,Nadal,Djokovic and Murray),in such cases patience is the key other than hardwork. This has been recently shown by Wawrinka who has recently been able to break the dominance of the big four.Hence the Indian tennis players need to wait for their turn to win a grandslam. But this has not been the case as players have been quickly shifting to doubles which is less physical demanding and does not have a any dominance as such. But until and unless All India Tennis Association(AITA) fund the Indian singles players, this is not going to happen.Tennis is one of those sports which is quiet popular(thanks to Sania Mirza and other doubles players) but there is a lack of tennis infrastructure in our country. This needs to be solved and this is one of the games that has been giving results and hence the money is worth spending.
Finally it is so very important for the singles players to do well and win a grand slam as singles is the most followed event among others and hence difficult to win.AITA should come in and invest more on this sport so as to develop good conditions for Tennis players. This beautiful game has been giving results and I wish it continues to do in future.

The Mystery of Surfaces in Tennis

Why has Federer managed to win 8 Wimbledon titles but only one French Open? How has it been that Rafael Nadal has been beaten only thrice in clay court but still lesser grand slams than Federer?Surely the surfaces in tennis play a key role in the performance of players. This blog will answer this question. Roger Federer the most successful all-time tennis player has recently hinted that he would be backing out from the French Open for the second consecutive time. This surely poses a question as to what is there in clay court that he is backing out. What is there in grass court that he is almost unbeatable. There are primarily three different types of surfaces in tennis hard court, clay court and grass court.Out of these hard courts are most common and nearly 70% of tennis tournaments are played on hard courts.Out of the four grand slams Australian Open and U.S Open are played on hard courts while French Open and Wimbledon are played on clay and grass courts respectively.Let's look
