The Evergreen Fight for Maximum Grandslams

The end of U.S Open 2017 has revived a battle that all tennis lovers love to see i.e the fight for
maximum number of grandslams. This blog article is about this record and its future prospects.

If some one had said that Nadal could break Federer's most number of grandslams record last year,he
would have been considered pretty ambitious but after this year, this would really be an exciting contest to see.At the present moment Federer has 19 grand slams to his name and Nadal has 16 grandslams in his kitty.,which means the deficit if of only 3 grandslams. The age difference between the two is 5 years which suggests that out of the two it is Federer who is going to retire first. But there has been a great difference in which the both have played in last 2-3 years.Last 2-3 years have been very difficult for Nadal. He has been suffering from a lot of injuries.Infact Nadal was not able to even reach the quarterfinals of the Grandslam events. But Federer had a lot smoother journey.Except for 2016 he had been pretty consistent and reaching a lot of semi finals and finals. The point that I want to make is that Federer handles himself lot better than Nadal.Hence the assumption that Federer retires before Nadal may go down and the opposite may happen.Certainly Federer was lot better than Nadal when he was between 28-30. But coming back to the current situation both of them look equally good.It was first time since 2007 that Federer and Nadal swept all the four grandslams.2007 seven was preceeded by seven years of complete dominance. But it would be really unfair if we say that the competiton isjust between the two because Djokovic,Murray,Wawrinka are surely going to return next year. And afterall it was these players who were winning before this year .Djokovic has a fair chance of reaching that milestone as he already has 12 grandslams to his name.
Finally I love the fact that even after so many years both Nadal and Federer stand a chance of winning most number of grandslams.Though both of them may deny that they do not play for records but we as tennis fans would really love to see this battle for records. It is this record which makesthe Federer- Nadal rivalry even more exciting.

Can Indian Hockey bring back its golden days?

The national game of India has been out of color for past few years. The big question is can hockey (Indian mens hockey)bring back its golden days in India. Hockey is a game in which India has dominated in the past. In fact India holds the record of maximum number of gold medals in the game of hockey. The days of Dhyan Chand were absolutely golden for India as India has no match at that time.India has won a staggering 11 olympic medals including 8 gold,1silver and 2 bronze medals. But after 1980 things have not been good for Indian hockey and after 2000 India has been facing problems in even qualifying for the Olympics. The major reason for this drop is the change of rules.Hockey earlier was played on plain grounds. But after the introduction of Astro Turf grounds, the game becoming fast,Dominance of European countries in the administration made things worse for India. Not only did Indian hockey lost tournaments but it also lost its popularity from India.Another big reason for this...

Who is better Sachin or Virat?

The hot Question since past three years is Who is a better player Sachin or Virat?                              Sachin Tendulkar                                                        Virat Kohli Well its not easy to compare two people of two different generations but it still can be done because of the fact that both of them have played with each other for good 3-4 years. Lets compare both of them on different aspects-: 1.       Time periods :  When we compare the periods when these two played then they are extremely different. Sachin made his debut at a time when India was emerging as a cricketing country, when we were not the best in any of the things. Sachin came as a hope as to we could say that we hav...

Is Cricket Still a Gentleman's Sport?

The last one week of has pulled out many controversies. These incidents are so ugly that one might still wonder if cricket is still a Gentleman's game. This blog is about these incidents and where the future of cricket is heading to. It is so disheartening that there have been not one but three incidents in past one week which have put a dark spot on cricket which is considered a gentleman's game.To start with the ugliest 1.The ball-tampering scandal This tampering was done during the third test match between Australia and South Africa. The whole Australian team was involved in ball tampering. This is not the first ball tampering incident but this is the first time when the whole team is involved in ball tampering which also includes the coach. It also started when the two on-field umpires called Cameron Bancroft in suspicion of tampering the ball. But he said that he had a sunglass cleaner which he used to clean his sunglasses and not tamper the ball. But later in the day vi...
